My Top 10 Voice Actors Who Passed Away Meme

Description

I've been really thinking to myself of doing a list/meme of my favorite VAs sometime, and thought to get out my way certain ones who aren't with us anymore. Partially since this year is just terrible for the most part and I wanted to show my appreciation for voice actors and what they do.

:bulletpink: Judith Barsi (June 6, 1978 – July 25, 1988)
She's a bit low here since she never truly got much of a chance to shine in her unfortunately short life but she had so much potential and seemed like such a sweetheart. Too bad her father had to ruin everything...Judy - Icon And I think you know what he did.
She would've only been a couple younger than my mother if she were with us today. Her most iconic and final roles were for Ducky from The Land Before Time and Anne-Marie from All Dogs Go to Heaven (the credits song, Love Survives, was dedicated to her.)

:bulletpink: Wayne Allwine (February 7, 1947 – May 18, 2009)
To me, Wayne Allwine was the definitive Mickey Mouse, no offense to Walt Disney and others who have voiced the character but Wayne was the one I was most accustomed to. He was also a sound effects editor for Disney, and actually got married to Russi Taylor. (who you may know as the current voice actress of Minnie Mouse, pretty adorable coincidence there. :aww:)

:bulletpink: Mako Iwamatsu (December 10, 1933 – July 21, 2006)
There's just something fun and welcoming about Mako, mostly due to his role of Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender (one of my favorite shows by the way). He also was the voice of Aku from Samurai Jack, and his final role was Splinter from the TMNT movie from 2007. I also consider what exactly they'll do with the upcoming Samurai Jack reboot, but I hope they can find someone who can do a good job voicing Aku in Mako's place.

:bulletpink: James Avery (November 27, 1945 – December 31, 2013)
While I may primarily like him as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I do think he made a very fun Shredder from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. I can only hope he's enjoying his pillowy mounds of mashed potatoes up in heaven.

:bulletpink: Mary Kay Bergman (June 5, 1961 – November 11, 1999)
I've only heard of her after finding out she voiced most of the female characters in the earliest seasons of South Park when I first got into the show, and I was surprised how much voice work she had done for about a decade until she ended up committing suicide.
One of my favorite roles she has done was Daphne Blake from the Scooby Doo movies by Mook Animation (Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and Alien Invaders. The only exception is Cyberchase, where Grey DeLisle took her place.)

:bulletpink: Vincent Price (May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993)
In some ways, I consider Vincent Price like the older equivalent to Tim Curry, with such a nice, dark voice to listen to. And it's actually not much of a surprise why Tim Burton looked up to him so much.
Of course, one of my favorite roles he's done was being the voice of Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective.

:bulletpink: Christine Cavanaugh (August 16, 1963 – December 22, 2014)
I'll openly admit I didn't know her that much until I've heard about her sudden passing at the very end of 2014, and the animation fanbase mourned her greatly. But in a way, it really made me appreciate her a lot for what she has done. She had a rather short career that lasted a little over a decade until she retired from voice acting in 2001.
However within that time, she really made an impression. She had many many voice roles under her belt then, being the voice of Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck, Chuckie from Rugrats, Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory, Bunnie Rabbot from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM), Oblina from Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, and Babe (from...y'know, Babe).

:bulletpink: Robin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014)
Yet another 2014 death that made such a huge impact on the world. When I first heard news about his passing, I personally couldn't believe it. And the fact it was suicide made it all the more tragic...:( He had such charming charisma as a comedian and so many looked to him as an inspiration. And I think we can all remember him voicing the Genie from Aladdin, easily his most iconic animated role. :D

:bulletpink: Clarence Nash (December 7, 1904 – February 20, 1985)
I guess knowing that Donald Duck is actually one of my favorite characters, I had to include Nash here. He even voiced Donald in all foreign translated shorts so Donald still kept his same incomprehensible voice, which is even more impressive by itself. This really helped Donald stand out I believe, because he has just that type of distinctive performance that actually sounded duck-like. He was also the only original voice actor to play his character in Mickey's Christmas Carol, which was his final role until his death a couple years later. So he basically voiced his character for 50 years, with Tony Anselmo being the second and current voice who was trained under Nash personally.
Interestingly enough, Clarence Nash was also the original of Tom from Tom and Jerry, and he did do a lot of animal voice acting roles too. (including Donald's nephews; Huey, Dewey, and Louie and the earliest incarnations of Daisy Duck)

:bulletpink: Mel Blanc (May 30, 1908 – July 10, 1989)
Mel Blanc would have to be an essential person for this list alone due to...pretty much voicing almost every single Looney Tunes character for decades. There's a reason why he's called 'The Man of a Thousand Voices'. Both he and Clarence Nash actually have that type of thing in common with voicing their same roles the longest than any other until June Foray managed to surpass both.
And...while I'm not really a die-hard fan of Looney Tunes personally, I do highly respect the franchise and have my fair share of memories with the many shows they had.

And here's a long list of honorable mentions (that may gradually grow larger)...

Joe Alaskey (April 17, 1952 – February 3, 2016)
